Great movie
If you read the movie description you might actually think this is a sleazy movie with a lot of nudity and sex. On the contrary it is not. The screenplay is outstanding with twists and turns and the plot intelligent enough to keep the movie moving along with a good pace. Since there are just two main characters they sure hold the fort with their excellent acting.
If you appreciate the fact that sometimes a movie based largely on the conversations between two persons can be so intense, personal, deep, powerful, and intelligent that it can handily overcome the fact that it doesn't have the typical Hollywood need for more actors and different scene settings, then you would certainly enjoy this movie.
The only debate I had about commenting on this movie is whether it is a 4 (great) or 5 (superb) star movie. In the end, I think it deserves 4.5 stars.
Hats off to all, especially the author, screenplay writer, actors, director, and producer for delivering a...
Surprisingly good (and a little perplexing) movie!
I was weary about this movie at first. The description didn't give very much information about the plot and it looked like it might be sleazy. But it was surprisingly good. There is very little action (no pun intended)--almost all of the movie is one long intense conversation between the two main characters. 'Thomas' (male lead) was kind of annoying and preachy at times but overall both actors conveyed a strong sense of vulnerability. Also, there is somewhat of a surprise twist at the end (not everything is as it seems). One final point, the ending might disappoint some. If you want something different but more realistic than the usual formulaic Hollywood-style movie, I would recommend this.
Could have been so much less
A well made film which manages to take the viewer through a frank, emotional and philosophical discussion related to a young man's visit with a high-end prostitute.
Kudos go to writer/director Joshua Rous, writer/star James Alexander and his wife/co-star Anel Alexander for teasing us with sexual situations, attractive, seemingly simplistic characters and scenes that threaten to send the story in numerous cliched directions but ultimately presenting to the audience the unique personal tales of two not-so-simple people. This wasn't the movie I expected nor did it end the way I thought it would - two statements that should be taken as compliments to those who worked on this production.
If you're looking for something that borders on porn, go elsewhere. If you want entertainment that is numbingly familiar, there's plenty of that to be found under other titles. However, if you like the idea of two fine, young actors exploring their characters' psyches with the...
